Easter

There are stories that are told
by masterful storytellers
They’re whispered in hushed tones
under starry night skies
They’re sung to large crowds in huge ampitheaters
They’re acted out and beamed into our lounge rooms.
They’re stories of tragedy transformed into comedy
of sad endings thwarted
and happy endings having reign.
Ours is not one of those stories.
We are not here to celebrate a happy ending.
We’re not here to celebrate an ending at all.
We’re here to celebrate new life.
New hope,
New life,
We’re here to tell and tell and tell
Of
An eternal beginning.
And beginnings are never certain.
And so we begin our story
At the beginning (where else is there?)
in fear and great joy.
Shall we begin?
